One lump or two

Ok, so I was supposed to go to the doctor for a check up from when I went to see him about 6 mths ago and found out that I had colitis and I thought since I was going I would add my pap since I was due. I called and they said that they would add it. I was in the room talking to the nurse, which is a long time childhood friend, and mentioned it to her and she didn't have it listed and so she added it at the last minute. That is why I was so shocked at the results. The doctor told me that he found two lumps in my breasts and that I would need to have a mammogram and and ultrasound. I wasn't so worried about what would happend I was just shocked becasue the whole thing was so last minute and unexpected. I talked to my mom and she reminded me that I have had a lump in the breast for a long time, I had forgotten about it because I was only 15 when they found it, and it was nothing. The new lump is in the same breast as the old lump and so I expect that it, they, will be nothing.
I also have a broken blood vessel that I need to get checked out and so I have an appointment for that too. I just didn't expect to have to go see more doctors and have more tests. The tests for my breasts are scheduled for May 5th and I will let everyone know what they find, but as I said I expect it to be fine.

I still haven't had any improvement in my foot. It will still not tap and my walking has not improved and so I am still using a cane, but hey it could be much worse. I go back to the neuro on May 13th.

Right now I have a cold. I got through the whole winter without one and NOW I am sick lol

Didn't do too much this past weekend, spent it mostly with my parents and grandma.

Take care, love to all!

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down

New week, new blog :)

Well, let's see what to do first haha.... health is about the same as last week. I have not noticed any difference in my foot. It still does not work, I am not able to tap it. I was really wobbly yesterday and almost feel quite a few times, but atlas I didn't! My walking is still silly looking and I have to concentrate really hard on what I am doing and so I took it pretty easy this week. I didn't do much other than a couple of lunch dates, I mean a girl has to eat right??? I had dinner at Exotic Thai with a girl I used to work with at Deere, it was awesome to catch up, and another day I met up with another girl I used to work with at Deere that has MS as well. I wanted to talk to her a little but about her reaction to Tysabri. She said that it made her feel horrible and she moved on to Chemo, but it is different for everyone and so who knows what it will be like for me. I am still talking the oral steroids and I do not go back to the doctor until the middle of May and so it will be a little bit before I have anymore updates on that. I do go to my general doctor this week, time for the yearly woo hoo, but I don't think I need to write anything about that LOL!

We also had Julie's babyshower on Sunday. Pics are posted on FB :)

Take care, love to all!

Hoppy Easter chicks

Hello hello,

I hope everyone had a good Easter. I spent mine with the family and posted a few pics of the girls on FB.

My foot still does not seem to be getting any better but I am able to get around pretty well. Sometimes even without a cane! I think I have just adjusted to the difference.

At the moment the doctors are concerned because my white blood cell count is really well and so they are running some further tests and I was off to give blood again this morning for a BMP. I 'll let ya know what they say. I am supposed to give blood again Wednesday and so I have seen way to many needles lately.

I had a good weekend. Friday night I went out with a bunch of girls from high school and it was super fun to see everyone. So good that in fact that I planned an 80's party at my house just to be sure that I get to see everyone again.

Saturday night I had a bunch of little things going on but I ended the night with the Bad Boyz crew, always a good time.

Love to all,
Stacy

No to chemo!

Ok, I went to the doctor today and he does not want to do Chemo for therapy he thinks that starting Tysabri will be better. There have been people that died from a brain disease called PML and so I will have to be monitored very closely. Tysabri is a 4 hour infusion at the hopstial once a month and so I would not have to do daily injections anymore which will be interesting after almost 4 years of being a pin cushion. http://www.nationalmssociety.org/about-multiple-sclerosis/treatments/medications/natalizumab/index.aspx Is a link to the NMSS page that will give more info on Tysabri for those of you that are interested. I am worried about PML but I don't have much choice at this point. The steroids have not improved my current symptons. They have not worsened but I need to do something to try to stop the disease from progression further.

Take care, love to all

Stacy from the Block

New week, new blog.

Well, I haven't really noticed any improvement in my foot at all. As I said that I tried to tap it and it still will not work. I go to the doctor on Wednesday morning and we will see what he says. I am afraid that I will have to do Chemo and that worries me. People get through that all the time but it's just not something I ever expected when I was diagnosed with MS. Chemo is for cancer, not MS right?? So weird. I tell ya though if I lose my hair, I am going to get one cool ass wig!

I am getting around better, but it's more just because I seem to have adjusted to getting around. I still need to use a cane, if I am just around the house I am okay but to go out and about I need it. It takes so much concentration to walk that it is super annoying. Such a simple thing that each of us do, but I have to think about it before I even put my feet on the floor to stand up.

Othan than that it was a good week. I didn't go see my grandmother on Thursday but I went with my mother on Saturday and so I was able to give her some time. I think I will be good to go over there myself this week and we will take our usual trip to Aldi haha. I didn't do too much on the weekend, I went for dinner and drinks on Friday with my parents and Saturday I babysat my cousin's daughters. They made me watch Mickey Once Upon A Christmas OMG! Afterwards I went down to Bad Boyz and had a few beers with Nicki and her husband Doug. A very good time. I look forward to going down there again this Saturday night and anyone else that is out should come down too!

I guess the only big thing I did this week was go to the NKOTB concert (I was supposed to go to Chicago on Saturday with Nicole and see RENT but I decided it was not the time to go for me) The concert was great, as in it brought back a lot of memories of old teenage times. It wasn't like the big concerts that you go to know but it was entertaining and they sang all the old songs that you wanted to hear.

Not too much on the schedule for this week or weekend other than Easter Sunday dinner, which is just a small gathering and I am hoping to catch up with some family that is in from out of town.

I will post an update Wednesday after I go to the doctor to let you know what he says.

Take care, love to all!
